Rental Program
The Perrin & Associates Fine Violins company is pleased to offer a rental program to meet the needs of music students and teachers. To encourage the student to learn proper technique from the beginning and provide a more enjoyable learning experience, our instruments are adjusted to the highest standards for optimum sound and playability.
The minimum rental period for any instrument is six months and a one time, non-refundable restocking fee ($40 for violin/viola, $60 cello) is required to open the contract. Each rental contract requires a driver’s license number or photo ID and a valid credit card. Every six months the appropriate fees will be charged to your credit card. The contract will automatically renew if the instrument is not returned or purchased on or before the last day of the rental period. Rental charges are not prorated and payments are due by the first day of each rental period.
100% of the first 12 months’ (2 rental periods) rent may be applied toward the purchase of the rented instrument or a higher level instrument for sale at Perrin & Associates Fine Violins.

Insurance
Perrin & Associates Fine Violins offers rental insurance for your protection. Insurance for violin and violas is $5.00/month, cellos $7.00/month. Our insurance covers accidental damage to the instrument, bow or case. It does not cover string replacement, bow rehairing, accessories or regular maintenance. If the instrument is lost or stolen the renter will be responsible for the contract value of the instrument. We recommend that you still insure your instrument under a home owner’s (or renter’s) insurance policy, which may help if the instrument is lost or stolen.
All instruments are rented out in good condition. This means that there are no open edges or cracks, the bridge and bow are straight, the bow hair and the strings are in new condition, and the instrument is properly adjusted. The renter is responsible for maintaining the instrument to these standards. When the instrument is returned, we expect it back in good condition. We reserve the right to charge for any needed repairs or maintenance not covered by insurance up to a maximum of 75% of contract value of the instrument.
